11 1/2 weeks
I am 11 1/2 weeks and I go back to the doctor for my 12 week check up on Friday, that's 3 months for you people that were like me that never knew why people always told you by the week instead of the month. I make it a point to say both, but I understand now why they do it, because EVERY DAY counts when you are pregnant. After about the 8th or 9th week the tiredness went away. I am not working and could sleep whenever I wanted to and it was still so miserable being that tired all the time. More power to you women that work full time and have other kids at home and go through this because I'm not sure I would survive. I have only been nauseous once in the past few weeks and it is usually after I take my prenatal vitamin. The craziest things are happening to me though. I can smell everything and that is no fun at all. I am loving chicken salad and juicy juice these days. I have laid off the mt. dew, they actually make my stomach hurt. I also tried turnip greens and I love them. I have always hated them before. Someone told me it has something to do with iron, I don't know I just found that strange. My husband is very excited that now we can go to Top Of the River and get greens. We used to fight over getting greens or fried pickles. I also refuse to eat Mexican food, which was a weekly staple in my diet before. It's not the food though, it is the smell that gets me. I am starting to feel bigger, my pants are getting a little snug. I think I will be using the ole rubber band soon.

Our First Dr's. Appt.
The day finally arrived. We were very anxious, because we were hoping that I would be due in July and not August. Being due in August means that the chance of me getting a teaching job next year would be impossible. We met with Dr. Blair at St. Vincent's East. She gave us all the info about what to do and what not to do. Which Josh took very seriously because he stayed on my case for the next month about drinking Mt. Dew and getting an hour of exercise everyday. I decided it would be smart not to bring him to anymore appointments ;) We then went and had a sonogram. We heard the heartbeat and saw the little alien on the monitor. The lady confirmed my due date was August 18th. I was a little disappointed, but I guess God knows what he's doing, it would be great if I knew what he was doing but APPARENTLY it doesn't work that way.
The sonogram pic is really hard to tell anything. Usually they do one vaginally and she just did mine on my belly. I wish we would have had her do it the other way so you could see it better. At this time I did not realize that I would only have 2 sonograms done during my pregnancy.
